Lockbox Steps

• Mail Opening and Image Capture- all payments are sent to a PO Box.  Items are collected, opened and imaged.
• Item Processing- images and data are processed through CAR/LAR data capture technology key from image and Exception processing steps.
• Settlement and Posting- funds are deposited and your accounts receivable systems are updated.
• Archival- images and data are saved for long term storage

Minimizing the number of exception items is crucial to efficient payment processing.  At First National Bank, we have the latest tools that allows us to resolve and you to receive fewer exception items.

• MICR Database- allows us to process “check only” payments by matching the check data historic payment information and applying the payment to the proper amount.
• Intraday Decisioning/Web Exception- our Internet lockbox portal allows you to view, edit, post and deposit exceptions the same day they were received.
• Payor Database- enables our operators to locate missing account numbers by searching your customer database by the payor information to locate the proper account number.
• Change of Address- when your customer indicates a change of address, our system automatically captures the data of the new address and sends an electronic file back to you.
